Moira X has Mary Jane Watson in her control so she can crash the invite-only Hellfire Gala 2022 edition.
Moira X / MJ is being followed by Greycrow FKA Scalphunter.
Wolverine will help Spider-Man, but they do so carefully to take out Moira without hurting MJ.
Looks like the goal to find Moira X a new body.
They find that body and Moira alleges she will free MJ.
Greycrow attacks followed by Wolverine and Spider-Man.
Moira, in her new robotic body, defends herself.
However, she has bigger fish to fry and leaves heading into the AXE: Judgment Day event (which is ongoing now).
The book ends with Spider-Man and MJ talking and I assume they can go through the Krakoan Gate, despite not being mutants, because they were invited by the mutants of Krakoa to the Hellfire Gala.
MJ tells Peter Parker that she can’t talk or grab coffee with him as she responsibilities now without revealing what they are.
We go from Hellfire Gala to AXE: Judgment with the next issue.
Amazing Spider-Man #10 lands in stores on September 28, 2022.
The Pulse:
This “tie-in” issue for Hellfire Gala 2022 is a bit delayed and off the mark since the Gala one-shot landed on July 13, 2022. That said, this ASM issue was fast-paced and felt consequential. Nice seeing the continued evolution of Moira X as well as the mystery behind MJ’s “responsibilities” remains secretive, painful yet captivating. Solid art. 7.5 out of 10.
